Samarria Brevard is one of the most accomplished and culturally influential skateboarders of her generation. A Riverside, California native, she began skating at age 13 and quickly made a name for herself in street skateboarding through a rare combination of going big, technical precision, power, and unmistakable style. Today, Samarria exists at the intersection of community leadership, street credibility, and cultural impact.

She has competed — and excelled — on skateboarding’s biggest global stages, including a 4th-place finish at the SLS Supercrown World Championship and a historic X Games podium, becoming the only Black woman to ever medal in skateboarding at a time when women’s skateboarding was still largely invisible. Her ceiling-shattering résumé is matched by deep respect from the core skate community — respect earned through consistency, fearlessness, and authenticity.

Samarria’s influence extends far beyond competition. She was one of only five women at the time (now eight total) in Thrasher Magazine’s 41-year, 500+ issue history to grace the cover — a landmark moment that solidified her place as a true skateboarding icon. The feature positioned her among the most respected and culturally relevant skateboarders of all time.
