Mary Rand
A winner and nominee of Transworld Snowboardings coveted Rookie of the Year, Rider of the Year, Video Part of the Year and Readers Choice awards, Mary can trace her success back to the 310-foot tall Yawgoo Valley, the birthplace of her iconic early career crew, the Yawgoons.
After gaining worldwide recognition for her street snowboarding video parts, Mary decided to switch her focus and delve headfirst into the backcountry.
Now going on her sixth season based at Mt. Baker, Mary has continued to deepen her connection to the mountains; traveling to ride Alaska’s most technical spine lines, learning the intricacies of the Japanese Alps, and honing in on her unique riding style. Producing and starring in two back-to-back North Face films as well as claiming the second place finish in her first official appearance in the Natural Selection Tour, Mary is proving herself as a player alongside some of snowboarding’s greats.
Coming up, Mary is working on her full segment for the second rendition of Full Moon, a groundbreaking all women’s back country film; as well as competing in Natural Selection again.
