Aunty Megz

Surfer | Shaper | Community Leader

Leave everything you thought you knew about surfing at the shore and paddle out with Aunty Megz—professional longboarder, community leader, and entrepreneur behind RAG Surfboards. Known for her progressive approach to longboarding, Megz blends creativity, style, and grit while challenging the industry’s tendency to sideline women.

As part of the world’s only father-daughter surfboard shaping duo, and one of the few women shaper-glassers in existence, Megz is breaking barriers both in and out of the water. She was also the first longboard coach for Carissa Moore’s Moore-Aloha Foundation, where she mentored and passed on her knowledge to the next generation of surfers. Beyond competition, she’s a skilled waterwoman trained in traditional Hawaiian throw-net fishing and a passionate advocate for cultural and community connection through the ocean.

Her surfing reflects her tenacity—whether charging heavy waves that leave her trembling (and smiling) or carving rail-to-rail with style and purpose. Megz embraces surfing as a platform for mental health awareness, self-love, joy and empowerment, using her journey and body-positive presence to uplift young women and diversify surf storytelling.

Recently, you may have seen her on-air as a commentator at the ISA Longboard World Championships in El Salvador or featured in Amazon Prime’s Hello Sunshine production, “Surf Girls.” With every wave, Megz proves that surfing isn’t just about performance—it’s about identity, resilience, and rewriting what’s possible.
